October Folkfest – Day 31

It’s been a long month and the most challenging listing club so far, having said that I’m going to miss the forums and fellow folkfesters! So, today’s card is dedicated to them, and as it’s the last day of the month I’m choosing a few of my favourite things from fellow listers:

Lonely hearts – vintage button bracelet (I promise this is the last time I mention my love of vintage this month)

Zygotegifts – eco gift tags (I love the creativity on Folsky and this is a prime example, good news from bad)

Jcu designs – swarowski earrings (these are so pretty and sparkly I can’t help but smile)

Josie-Mary – flower hair slide (I have to admit I’m envious of anyone who can crochet)

Made by dolly – Christmas heart decoration (Christmas is fast approaching I will no doubt be visiting this folksy seller before then)

I’m in a bad mood, so going to step away from the computer and go to bed with a book or magazine.

Sleep well.

October Folkfest – Day 30

We had a fantastic day with my boyfriend’s mum and sister visiting, and went to the Breakfast Club again before going to Borough market and walking along the Thames.  The only issue was that it went too quickly, I can’t believe it’s nearly November! Given that the end of October always ends with halloween my picks tonight are all of a spooky nature:

Paulaz jewelz – twilight bracelet (spooky wolf, which wouldn’t scare me off buying from this shop)

Audrey’s cat – 60s purse (this reminds me of all the pumpkins that have been popping up recently, especially at Borough market!)

I’d just like to dedicate my get well soon card today to my ‘little brother’ who’s had an operation on his ankle, hope he feels better soon.

Off to chill now before bed. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and don’t forget to put the clocks back!

October Folkfest – Day 27

I’m ready for bed already, was a really long day starting with a site meeting in Bristol, then train back to Paddington where there were numerous problems with the underground and took 45 mins to actually manage to get on a train to go to One New Change for final snagging and last minute panic before opening tomorrow.  If you’re in London tomorrow why not go to One New Change, a brand new shopping development opposite St Paul’s cathedral which opens/launches at noon, and feel free to check out the Hobbs shop (not that I’m biased!)

With such a busy day I relisted a delisted card from Bessie, which is dedicated to all my customers to say thanks for choosing my Folksy shop.  Which brings me to today’s topic – ways to say thanks:

Mushy makes – poppy brooch (why not show some appreciation and thanks to all those that have fought and continue to fight for our country, I don’t agree with the Iraq war but I support the troops out there risking their lives so we don’t have to. So please buy a poppy)

Chasing beads -  love charm bracelet (it’s the people I love the most that I owe the most thanks to)

Night night

October Folkfest – Day 26

I’m hoping the week gets quicker after a slow start but as I’m on site in Bristol tomorrow it should speed things up a bit, and we’ve got guests this weekend which I’m looking forward to. It’s an early start tomorrow so another quick blog tonight before washing  up and bed! I don’t like getting up in the mornings, especially when it’s dark, so I’m glad in the mad rush this morning I managed to list a new card featuring Bertie and Margot. Today’s folkfest picks are chosen with ‘mornings’ in mind:

Lonely hearts – swallow earrings (I long for spring and summer days, waking up to the tweeting birds rather than the sound of rain)

Damselfly Gemma – fuschia earrings (half of my dilemma’s in a morning consist of choosing which earrings to wear)

Better go and wash up now, then try and get some sleep.

October Folkfest – Day 25

I’m in need of a day off, but not long until Christmas – 2 months today to be precise! I’m looking forward to spending time with family and just relaxing for a bit. As I seem to be tired all the time it’s another very quick blog today on Christmas wishlist items:

Treasure trove jewels – silver star pendant (I love stars, and this is so pretty)

Pants and paper – heart brooch (I think I deserve a present to myself, and this would be it)

I’m off to reach for the stars now, or at least dream of them.

October Folkfest – Day 24

It’s been a nice relaxed day, and I even had time to do this month’s illusrapedia illustration – vehicles.  This one started life with an idea from my boyfriend but then slowly evolved, and now makes me think of my mum who is constantly rushing about and getting annoyed by all things slow! My Folkfest listing today is also on the ‘slow’ theme, taking a romantic moment. So today’s theme is ‘moments to savour’:

Ciren’s call - black cuff links (I love getting dressed up, and enjoying glamorous moments from time to time)

Juju cards – I love shoes card (after breaking my hip and finding out one leg is considerably shorter than the other I definitely savour any moment I find gorgeous shoes that fit and can be altered so I can wear them)

Lou Lou’s Luxuries – raindrop earrings (this reminds me of mine and my boyfriend’s first date in the pouring rain, a moment I’ll always remember)

Pipdesigns – polka cushion cover (snuggling up at home is always one of my fave times)

Time to make the most of what’s left of the weekend before Monday morning comes around again.

October Folkfest – Day 23

The flat is now as tidy as it will get, apart from one ‘to sort pile,’ and the fresh bedding is ready to snuggle under which is always good. You wouldn’t tell I’m still in my 20s as our Sat eve consisted of food shopping, and then a walk to wagamama and I’m already shattered and ready for bed even after a lazy morning! I did manage to list Dot’s new home card this morning before the housework began, so my inspiration for today’s Folkfester picks is the home:

Heirloom bunting – bunting for boys (this is just adorable and would cheer up any room)

Lemonade and lamingtons – crocheted ankle socks (someone once said to me ‘when you feel down put on your best shoes and start walking’ but I’d quite happily put these on around the house instead and start walking)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Folksy Friday in song

I’m so glad this week is over and the end is in sight for my latest challenging shop design… One down three to go before christmas! At least it’s one less thing to worry about as I’ve got a few things on my mind at the moment. I find the best thing is to lose myself in music, so along with my celebration card listing today I’m going to celebrate that it’s Friday by choosing items based on rem lyrics:

Pirate pixie’s treasure trove – I love disco necklace (I’m gonna DJ at the end of the world – I’m gonna DJ)

Mystic’s realm – pink rose rings (the flowers often bloom at night – Flowers of Guatemala)

Lilly’s night garden – address book (gardening at night, just didn’t grow – Gardening at night)

Moody cow designs – handbag (a twist of colour – 7 chinese brothers)

Bead cornucopia – black and white dice (eighteen wheeler, payback dice – Low Desert)

Have a great weekend

October Folkfest – Day 21

Handover has been and gone, or not as the case may be… does anybody else have projects that just don’t ever seem to end and neither do the problems? Having said that the shop (and shopping centre) opens a week today so there’s no choice but to finish soon! Ok, mini rant over, hope everyone else has had a good day. Although mine didn’t get off to a great start I was leaving site this afternoon and spotted these 3 doors that I have to walk past everytime I go down the corridors and they made me smile, as if they’re made for mummy, daddy and baby bear! This fits in well with my new arrival card today, and brings me onto today’s folkfester topic – family:

Made by dolly – Christmas bunny (our first family pet was a cute rabbit the same colour called Judy, joined a week later by Fudge)

Laura’s jewellery – Teapot and teacup necklace (my family go out for tea/coffee in Ilkley every Saturday morning, and we join them when back in Yorkshire one of my fave places and family traditions)

Dottie designs – Boy’s robot keepsake box (my brother would have loved this to rival my diary when we were younger)

Noodlebubble – Heart brooch (just because I love my family)

Time for bed again already, sleep well.

October Folkfest – Day 20

I’m going to feature a few more folkfesters today to make up for not being able to blog yesterday. Although I was very tired this morning after a late night I was very proud to see Dan Djing at the Redbull competition last night! Today’s item from me is a relisting of my snowbear illustration which is the one that I am probably most proud of. So, if you’ve not guessed it yet today’s topic is things to be proud of:

Funky Cinderella – Felt flower brooch (I’m proud to be a designer, but working with fashion clients I do constantly feel the need to wear things which aren’t traditional high street, this brooch would be the perfect accessory to go with many more already bought from fellow Folksters)

Floral gifts 4 u – Holly sock posy (I’m proud to have an amazing boyfriend who often surprises me with flowers, this would be even better as it would keep my cold feet warm)

Nofkants Curios – Poppy hat and mittens (I’m proud of my every growing hat collection, even if most of them are children’s sizes, but Natalie’s hats fit my small head)

Dab and dash – Jam jar notebook (I’m proud of my sketchbook which goes everywhere with me, and this would be fantastic as my next one)

Lou Lou’s Luxuries – Nest egg jewellery set (I’m proud to be a Yorkshire lass from the gorgeous Bronte Country, and miss the wildlife and country lifestyle)

Ann Chandler originals -  Evening bag (most girls are proud of their bag collections)

Indira albert – Scooters print (I’m proud to be part of the handmade community, and such talent as this fellow folkfester)

That’s it from me tonight after another disastrous day at work (hopefully the last bad day for a while) I need to go to bed. Sleep well
