#Blogboost 29 – Pretty patterns

I’ve decided that my time might be more productive if I do tasks in bulk, so I spent a good day just cutting out patterns from my stack of fabric which was also more economical with the fabric as I could get as many patterns out as possible but also highlights which colours I’m running low on (yes with my fabric obsession it’s difficult to imagine me running out of any fabric!) Now time to start sewing, so if there are any colour requests before they start going into my shops then please let me know.

Get well soon fabric…

Well I’ve been out of hospital a week now, and am on the slow road to recovery despite the pain. I won’t bore you with the trials and tribulations of my operation, complications in recovery and return home but I’m feeling a little sorry for myself. I’ve tried creative distraction techniques to forget the pain, but they’re just not working and although I have motivation and a list of things in my head that I want to do whilst off work I just don’t have the energy to complete anything. It’s not surprising that I spend a lot of my time sleeping, or trying to sleep at the moment as then I don’t notice the pain but it also gives me an escape in my dreams. My latest daydream is of being given fabric and creative supplies as a get well present to add to my already large collection, much healthier than choc!

I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone for my get well gifts and messages, as you can see from above they’re fab and have all cheered me up, the best presents have been visits from friends and family.

Anyway, back to dreaming of fabric now – have a fab weekend.

Perfect Post

I love receiving post, especially when it is fabric related but even better when it is something I am least expecting. After a long start to the week yesterday it was lovely surprise to come home to 2 parcels waiting on our doorstep, both of which were a surprise but only because I had forgotten about my late night shopping spree on a new fabric site I had found on Saturday night, the eternal maker. So, yes the first was more fabric, this time some lovely soft flannel ready to try out my new pattern from winter peach on etsy for some slippers I can wear after I have my hip operation (that will be the next big challenge on my list.) The second was an amazing crocheted jar candle from Ali of Mud meddling, which accompanied my feedback form for a pair of trial baby booties Ali’s daughter tested with her wriggly little feet. Thanks Ali, the positive feedback was enough but the little present is gorgeous and has been well tested by me already!

Bootie update…

My poor sewing machine isn’t sounding too well at the moment, which may well have something to do with the long overloaded evenings trying to perfect my baby booties, but there’s one last push to get the remaining trial pairs out. So far I’ve got about half my free pairs in the post, and have already started receiving photos and feedback, above are a few of my faves from the last week with some fab fabrics from fabric rehab and my fabric house which are my 2 current fave online fabric suppliers. It’s great to know that my products are being tested to their limit before I launch them and I will know with confidence that they are as good as I can make them when they go on sale, so watch this space.

But all this sewing is hard work so bedtime now – sleep well.
