Run Dan Run!…

My boyfriend is running the Manchester 10k this weekend to raise money for Diabetes UK, with a target of £250! So to help him get some extra cheers and support, with the aid of my new sewing machine, I have sewn an anonymity name onto the front and back of his running shirt as it seems to help if people know your name :) I will of course be in the crowd trying to spot him – I’ve got no excuses now.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored him (and all the other charities gaining from the event) and in particular to my parents for their part in raising money for a charity that has helped my family over the last 19 years!

Finally, a big GOOD LUCK to Dan, Nancy and Vicky this weekend and to all those running for Diabetes UK, and everyone taking part!

heARTs for Haiti

girl and kite

When disasters such as the earthquake in Haiti happen it’s often a stark reminder that  there are people much worse off than ourselves.  Faye Rossi has come up with a great fundraising idea, heARTs for Haiti, which is  ‘an exhibition of art, photography, and crafts to raise funds and awareness for Haitian earthquake relief organisations.’

The freelance work I was doing dried up before Christmas so money is tight at the moment as with many during the recession, but this is a fantastic way to use my art to help others…  and I’m calling all artists to do the same, any piece of art/photography/craft you can donate will help so many in need! Alternatively you can bid for the art that has been donated on the facebook group.
